There’s a certain freedom in being lost. It leads to new discoveries. A cherished place that you never knew existed, or something powerful within yourself that you didn’t know was there. But to find yourself… well, first you have to be lost. And to get lost we need room to move. Room to breathe. Room to play. New faces and unforgettable experiences. That’s what makes Castlegar the perfect place to start the journey. Endless forested slopes; warm, sparkling rivers, and welcoming smiles. And all the room in the world to play.

For the summer 2020 season, we’re exploring a “Lost and Found” theme and we begin on Castlegar’s main golf courses. Here’s a “found” tidbit that you might not know about the Castlegar Golf Club (pictured above): it was honoured with a four-star rating by Golf Digest magazine, meaning it’s one of the best courses to play in British Columbia! Which is only surprising to those who haven’t visited it yet. There aren’t too many places on Earth where you can enjoy 18 holes on perfectly manicured fairways and greens beside one of North America’s longest rivers and all between snow-capped mountains. In fact, it’s hard not to get lost in the scenery! It’s been the site of multiple provincial and national championships and yet it’s relatively undiscovered, meaning there’s never a long wait for a tee time. We highly recommend you find yourself on this world-class course this summer.

Whether you’re on a boys’ outing, a girls’ trip, or a fun date, the Castlegar Golf Club is the perfect find. Get lost amongst the rolling hills of the fairways and then find yourself at The Nineteenth where a large patio awaits offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. In fact, another “found” tidbit for you is the patio at The Nineteenth has been voted the best in the city! You’ll also find a fully licensed bar there as well as a delicious menu featuring fusion Canadian food that includes vegetarian and gluten free options.

Another reason why travellers might want to find their way to the Castlegar Golf Club is the fact it has an RV campground right on site. There are 20 spaces in a for campervans and RVs in a natural setting directly adjacent the course, which means you can literally roll out of bed and onto the tee!

If you find yourself lost for ideas on what to do during your next family outing, the Castlegar Golf Club is an excellent choice. It’s also a great choice for executives who’d rather have a fast meeting on the links than in a boardroom or couples looking to do something a bit different than catch a matinee.
