Even though Castlegar enjoys the longest summer in the Kootenays, with residents and visitors often mountain biking and rock climbing into November, the city will be celebrating a Summer Sendoff concert on September 7 at Tailout Brewing. Music will start around 6pm and finish at 10pm with three punk rock acts. The event is family friendly and food and drinks will be available all day.

Destination Castlegar is holding a contest to win two tickets to the concert as well as a night’s accommodation at the Sure Stay Hotel, right next door to the venue.

Simply fill in this form to enter the contest. A winner will be announced August 28, 2024.

The contest is now closed.

ABOUT THE CONCERT

The bands that will be playing at the 2024 Summer Sendoff are local acts The Adits, Toaster, and The Corps. These punk rock outfits have been making heads move for the past decade and no doubt they’ll rock out on this hometown stage. If bringing your young ones, ear protection is probably a good idea.

Tailout Brewing and the Sure Stay Hotel

Opened in late 2019, Tailout Brewing is the first and only craft brewery in Castlegar. It offers a spacious, open setting and custom art that reflects the team’s love of fishing. It’s also the perfect venue for a concert because it’s in a central location immediately adjacent to the Sure Stay Hotel and beside the Grand Buddha Bistro.

The newly renovated Sure Stay Hotel by Best Western features 59 guest rooms (including one suite) with flat-screen televisions, microwaves, free Wi-Fi, a complimentary breakfast, mini fridges and some of the rooms also offer kitchenettes.
